The British-born, New York-based trans singer and songwriter Anohni has just released her first full album in 6 years. Called My Back Is A Bridge For You To Cross, it’s credited to Anohni and the Johnsons, which is a little misleading because instead of her old band, this is essentially the work of Anohni and the guitarist/producer Jimmy Hogarth. Various guests come and go, but the focus is always on Anohni’s extraordinary voice. This song, called “Rest,” also sports a misleading title.
