Announcing the 'NYC Neighborhood Library Awards' Finalists

The next round in the "NYC Neighborhood Library Awards” process starts now as the finalists have been announced! The Brian Lehrer Show is joining with the Charles H. Revson Foundation and the Stavros Niarchos Foundation to reward some of New York City’s best public library branches. They received over 13,000 (!) nominations and had a big job winnowing the list of worthy branch libraries to the 10 finalists.

Now the judges get busy reviewing the 10 branches and picking the five winners who will each receive a $20,000 dollar prize. Those judges, by the way, include former guests on this show, the writers Jacqueline Woodson, Maira Kalman and Jonathan Safran Foer.  Stay tuned for more here and for the winners to be announced in May.
