Amythyst Kiah at Caramoor, in Katonah, NY
Oct. 18. 7:30PM. $24-$76.
Amythyst Kiah loves roots music and alternative rock; her songs often clothe dark subjects in bluesy stomps and amps-to-11 rock. She’s a Tennessee-raised singer, guitarist, banjo player, and scholar - with a degree in Bluegrass, Old-Time, and Country Music Studies. But whether she’s on her own or playing with the groundbreaking quartet Our Native Daughters, there’s nothing studied about her live performances, which are full of in-the-moment energy. She plays on Oct. 17th in the afternoon on All Of It; And on Friday, Oct. 18 at Caramoor, in collaboration with City Winery.
