The Russian TV's Favorite American Pundit

On the Media | Feb 18, 2022

As the threat of a Russian invasion in Ukraine looms, Moscow-based OTM producer Molly Schwartz takes us into the world of Russian television, where propaganda and slanted coverage dominate the nightly news. She tells the story of Michael Wasiura, an American pundit who regularly appears on Russian talk shows, on being a lone figure swimming against the tide of anti-US coverage. Molly also interviews Moscow Correspondent for the New Yorker, Joshua Yaffa, on the chaotic landscape that is Russian media, where guests and pundits go head-to-head, with seemingly no solution in sight.

This is a segment from our February 18th, 2022 program, Good As Gold.
