All Of It with Alison Stewart | Nov 23, 2022

Before many families across the United States gather around the table for the Thanksgiving holiday tomorrow, we speak about the importance of communing and eating with family with the husband and wife duo, Julian Clauss-Ehlers, chef, and Caroline Clauss-Ehlers, a psychologist, who've released a new cookbook, Eating Together, Being Together: Recipes, Activities, and Advice from a Chef Dad and Psychologist Mom.

30 years ago, Sophie B. Hawkins released her debut album Tongues and Tails. The album launched Hawkins's career and went platinum thanks to tracks like the single, "Damn I Wish I Was Your Lover." Hawkins joins us to discuss her career and forthcoming music, and takes listeners' calls. She'll be playing at City Winery on November 28.

Renowned photographer Nan Goldin has dedicated much of her life to opioid addiction advocacy and activism against the Sackler family, following her own battle with addiction to opioids and near-fatal overdose. The new documentary, "All the Beauty and the Bloodshed," follows her career and determination to bring the Sacklers to justice. Director Laura Poitras joins us to discuss the film, which is out in theaters today.

The new documentary, "Louis Armstrong's Black & Blues," uses archival footage and home recordings to paint a new portrait of the founding father of jazz. Director Sacha Jenkins joins us along with Ricky Riccardi, consulting producer and director of Research Collections for the Louis Armstrong House Museum in Queens. The film is now streaming on Apple TV+.
