All Of It with Alison Stewart | Sep 20, 2022

How many of us have a favorite song that for years we sang totally wrong? New Sounds host John Schaefer joins to talk "Mondegreens," or misheard lyrics, and takes listener calls.

As local officials look to institute more permanent regulations for outdoor dining, we look back at the rise of the dining shed across NYC's restaurants. New York Times writer Dodai Stewart recently published the piece "The Final Days of New York’s ‘Wild West’ Outdoor Dining Scene." She joins us for this conversation. We also take your calls.

Agatha Christie was the queen of mystery writers, so it's fitting that her own life was full of secrets and puzzles, including one mysterious disappearance. Historian Lucy Worsley joins us to discuss her new biography, Agatha Christie: An Elusive Woman, which explores her extremely modern mindset, her strange insistence that she was an ordinary housewife, and her struggles with mental illness.

Many of the year's most hotly anticipated movies have premiered in Venice and Toronto, setting the stage for an interesting awards season packed with star performances and fascinating new films. New York Times awards season columnist and friend of the show Kyle Buchanan joins us to give his opinions on the movies you should be looking forward to this fall. Plus, we take calls from listeners.
