Ken Auletta on Harvey Weinstein, Chelsea Hotel Documentary, Full Bio: The Family Roe, Regina Spektor Listening Party

All Of It with Alison Stewart | Jul 13, 2022

A new biography from Ken Auletta explores how Harvey Weinstein became one of the biggest power-players in Hollywood... and one of its most widespread perpetuators of abuse. From the very beginnings to the Me Too movement, Auletta covers the life of Weinstein in his new book Hollywood Ending: Harvey Weinstein and the Culture of Silence.

A new film from Magnolia Pictures and Martin Scorsese tells the story of the storied Chelsea Hotel from its days as the center of the bohemian arts community in NYC to its decline to its reinvention as market rate apartments. We'll speak to directors Amélie van Elmbt and Maya Duverdier, and current resident Rose Cory and take listener calls.

For the latest installment of our ongoing Full Bio series, we speak with journalist Joshua Prager, author of the biography about the story of Roe v. Wade, called The Family Roe: An American Story. On day three, we discuss America post-Roe v. Wade, and how people on both sides of the issue continued to fight for or against the decision, including the story of two doctors who fell on different sides of the issue, Mildred Jefferson and Curtis Boyd.

Home, before and after is the first album from Bronx-raised musician Regina Spektor in six years. She joins us for a Listening Party and to preview her Carnegie Hall show on July 19.
