The Founding Mothers of NPR, Kate Has A Plan, 'The Bible in a Year,' 'This Is A Robbery,' Tune-Yards

This year, NPR is celebrating the 50 years since its first transmission, as well as the debut of All Things Considered. With this in mind, journalist Lisa Napoli joins to discuss her new book, Susan, Linda, Nina & Cokie: The Extraordinary Story of the Founding Mothers of NPR, available today.

WNYC planning editor Kate Hinds joins us for our ongoing series, "Kate Has a Plan," to discuss the stories the newsroom is following this week.

The Bible in a Year podcast sat atop the podcast charts for over 2 months, unprecedented for a religious podcast. It’s produced by the Pennsylvania-based Ascension Media, and Associate General Manager for Media and project lead on the podcast, Marisa Beyer, joins to discuss.

In 1990, two men walked into the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston and stole art worth over half a billion dollars today, including works by Rembrandt and Vermeer. To this day, the mystery has never been solved. Director Colin Barnicle joins us to discuss his new Netflix docuseries about the crime, “This Is A Robbery: The World’s Biggest Art Heist.”

The Guardian calls sketchy, the new album from Tune-Yards, a “discomfiting but enjoyable sonic deluge.” Tune-Yards’ Merrill Garbus joins us for an All Of It Listening Party.
