Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra at P.S. 321 in Brooklyn (In Person)
Sat., May 15, 4-7PM, Free, at P.S. 321 for Brooklyn Conservatory of Music Benefit
Wed., May 19, at Drom, 7PM, $20.
The Grammy-winning Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra is led by pianist and composer Arturo O’Farrill, who’s been a major player on the New York jazz scene for decades. His ensemble varies in size – this coming Wednesday night, May 19, at Drom it’ll just be a quartet; but on May 13, the Saturday afternoon outdoor event behind P.S. 321 in Arturo’s Brooklyn neighborhood, Park Slope, will be a fuller band. Here is “On The Corner of Malecon and Bourbon,” a celebration of music in Havana and New Orleans by the Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra.
