
Transatlantic Hugs, Handshake Texts and the Future of Tactile Research

New advances in tactile research, or the science of touch, have changed our understanding of human consciousness, according to Adam Gopnik, a staff writer at The New Yorker, in his recent article “Feel Me.” Gopnik explores the innovative discoveries being made in haptic technology, from creating the sensation of touch in artificial hands, to designing wearable technology that enabled the first transatlantic "hug."
