A Discussion of the Cancer Care Organization

The NYPR Archive Collections | Jan 1, 2000

In this episode, moderator Jeffrey Roche discusses the organization Cancer Care with guests. The three guests are Ms. Irene G Buckley, the Executive Director, Mrs. Ruth Michaels, the Director of Social Services, and Mrs. Marylynne Floum, whose family has received Cancer Care's services.

Cancer Care's mission is to serve the advanced cancer patients and their families. The organization provides counseling and supplemental financial assistance. They are mostly helping the middle-income persons who have been hit hard by cancer.

Mayor Lindsay has designated the week "Cancer Care Week," and is urging New Yorkers to donate to Cancer Care.
