What's Next for Books?

Features | Sep 20, 2010

Now that so many people read books on screens, the designers at IDEO's New York office have been wondering how they might enhance the experience beyond what's available on Kindles, Nooks and iPads.

What opportunities might influence how authors write? What new experiences are created when books are connected to one another? And how can we find new ways to create community around books?

They've made a "concept video" about some of these ideas and are giving WNYC's audience an early look. None of these products actually exist -- yet -- but their descriptions are meant to start discussions.

What do you think? How would you build on it? Watch the video and then let us know in the comments.
