"The H&R Block Tax Stimulus Plan"

WNYC News | Jul 13, 2010

Interesting tidbit, via today's Financial 411 guest Anya Kamenetz: the president's stimulus package contains a huge, unintended boost for tax preparers: a more complicated tax code.

John Hewitt, founder of Jackson-Hewitt, even referred to it as  "the H&R Block and Liberty Tax Stimulus Plan" in an interview with BusinessWeek, and went on to say: "I love it whenever [lawmakers] pass tax changes...This one helps us because there are more tax changes that affect more people than any bill I've ever seen."

Be alert for scams. WNYC never asks for nor accepts money for coverage or interviews. Anyone making such a request does not represent WNYC.
