Lettuce May Be Cause of E. Coli Outbreak

WNYC News | Jul 12, 2010

Federal health officials say they now face the difficult task of tracing the source of lettuce believed responsible for an E. coli outbreak in New York, New Jersey and other states.

The outbreak sickened dozens and has been linked to Taco Bell restaurants. Officials say it has apparently run its course. Taco Bell first believed green onions were responsible, but follow-up testing by the government failed to confirm that.
