Police Testify Before Sean Bell Grand Jury

WNYC News | Jul 12, 2010

Two more police officers involved in the fatal shooting of Sean Bell appeared before a Queens grand jury that is deciding whether they should face criminal charges.

Detective Marc Cooper fired four shots that night last November, and he answered questions before the grand jury for two hours this morning. His lawyer says Cooper acted in a professional manner at the time of the shooting and has nothing to hide. Giscard Esnora is before the grand jury this afternoon. He fired 11 shots.

The grand jury could hear from one more police officer this week. Mike Oliver fired 31 of the 50 shots that killed Bell, stopping to reload during the barrage.
