The Rangers got a big win over one of their rivals for the final playoff spot in the East.

Jaromir Jagr scored the winning goal in a shootout, beating Carolina 2-1. The Islanders will be without Chris Simon for the rest of the season. He's been handed a 25-game suspension from the NHL for his swinging his stick into the face of the Rangers Ryan Hollweg.
