Mayor Launches New Tourism Campaign

In an effort to have visitors to the city feel more at home, Mayor Bloomberg wants to recruit all 8 million residents as on-the-spot guides. The city has launched a new campaign - "Just Ask the Locals." The mayor says New Yorkers are up to the task.

BLOOMBERG: We're just the luckiest people in the world I think to live here and I'm supposed to be a booster for this city. But I really believe that. New Yorkers want to say hello. They want to be helpful. They're very proud of this city.

REPORTER: The campaign includes a list of 10 navigation tips, which will be handed out by "tourism ambassadors," and a hotline with tips from celebrity residents, such as actors Robert DeNiro and Julianne Moore.
