Michelle Obama Visits NY, CT

WNYC News | Jul 12, 2010

REPORTER: In Stamford, she met with a group of women, touching on the themes of her husband's campaign - focusing on education, healthcare and the challenges women face as workers and mothers.

Jessica Pettigrew, a 25-year-old midwife student, was impressed with Michelle Obama's dedication to her children and her husband.

Pettigrew feels the time is right for Obama.

PETTIGREW: Understandably, Hillary probably has a certain degree of cynicism about Washington that Barack Obama just doesn't have yet. And he can move us as a country to demand more for ourselves.

REPORTER: Last night, Michelle Obama spoke at a $1,000-per-person private fundraiser in Greenwich.

New York, New Jersey and Connecticut all have presidential primaries on Tuesday.

Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama will face off in their last debate before Super Tuesday tonight.

You can hear that debate tonight at 10 on AM820 WNYC.
