Red Hot +Rio

New York, NY —
Almost 20 years ago, the "Red Hot" organization came up with a strategy to raise awareness and money around HIV/AIDS prevention. They presented big benefit concerts and multi-cultural, multi-artist recording projects. The original album, Red Hot and Blue, featured pop singers taking on Cole Porter Songs. Starting tonight, BAM will present the show "Red Hot+Rio" -- with musicians paying homage to Brazilian pop music of the 60s and 70s. The concert's based on an album that came out in 1996. Rob Weisberg talks us through some of the acts that'll be featured.
