General Agreement Reached on Moynihan Station

There's movement on the Moynihan Station project. Governor Paterson, Senator Charles Schumer and Amtrak President Joe Boardman have announced that months of negotiations have resulted in a general agreement and mutual understanding on the basic terms and conditions that will lead to the redevelopment of the Farley Post Office Building as a new Penn Station and center for most of Amtrak’s New York City service. The officials say the terms of the agreement will be finalized in the coming weeks, allowing for final planning, design and financing efforts to proceed on the long-term future of the complex and of the New York City intercity and regional rail network.
