WNYC News | Jul 12, 2010

The city's largest police union is giving Mayor Bloomberg its endorsement. It's the first time the PBA has backed Bloomberg in his three campaigns.

PBA President Patrick Lynch says the mayor's record on crime and his administration's successful contract negotiations with cops last year won them over. He says the union's wish list is is simple:

LYNCH: We want fairness,we want him to listen to our grievances, to act as partners with New York City Police officers to resolve the problem if we get that fairness we're pleased.

REPORTER: Mayor Bloomberg has now been endorsed by all five of the city's police unions.

Comptroller William Thompson has the endorsements of the city's Corrections Officers Association and the Uniformed Firefighters Association.
