The Music of Metropolis

Perhaps the most influential film of the silent era, Fritz Lang’s Metropolis is back in theaters with 25 minutes of never-before-seen footage.

The 1927 classic has been remixed and re-released countless times, and has inspired lots of original music along the way. Today, we discuss the many soundtracks of Metropolis with musician Ken Winokur, whose chamber group Alloy Orchestra has accompanied the film live at over 500 screenings.
