#3034: Piano and Percussion

New Sounds | May 24, 2010
For this New Sounds, take in some music made by the piano, (technically a percussion instrument), with and without additional percussion and sometimes processing, as in "White Bone Country" by Australian-born, New York-based Andrew Byrne. There's also music by Irish composer Roger Doyle, who uses piano and processing in a piece called "Cool Steel Army." Then we'll listen to Dave King's drumming AND piano-playing from a new solo record, called "Indelicate." Plus, hear piano music from Wayne Horvitz and Robin Holcomb.
