Au Revoir Simone

Spinning on Air | May 18, 2010
This trio from Brooklyn uses synthesizers, drum machines, and their gentle voices to play songs about horse races, forgiveness, oceans, cool air and warm goodbyes. Originally an informal project among friends, Au Revoir Simone has gone on to compose their own songs and perform them in Japan, Iceland, The UK, and now the WNYC Studio. Host David Garland welcomes band members Erika, Heather and Annie to set up their electronics and share their thoughts and music in this in-studio session. Au Revior Simone comfortably mix pop, minimalism, wistfulness, and an energizing sense of fun. Their set includes music from their mini-album, unreleased songs, and a spontaneous unplugged re-mix featuring all three women playing the WNYC grand piano together.
