Some (Mostly) New Things

On tonight's edition of Spinning on Air, host David Garland spotlights new music from some recent guests on the show. French composer Sylvain Chauveau (pictured) has two new projects: a solo CD, and one with his band Arca; both continue his mix of simple lyricism and rustling noises. Ed Askew has a new batch of songs, adding more gems to his slightly askew, very personal musical world. And British group Goldfrapp's second album is finally out, with an emphasis on synthesizers and sensuality. All this, plus Greenpot Bluepot, Paul Revere and the Raiders, and guitarist Ronnie Prophet's "psycho-instrumental" version of "Ghost Riders in the Sky."
