Soundcheck | May 18, 2010

With his new cinematic update of the Robin Hood legend, director Ridley Scott has some big shoes to fill.

1938’s The Adventures of Robin Hood featured not only an iconic performance by Errol Flynn, but a classic soundtrack that nabbed that year’s Oscar for Best Original Score. We explore the music of the Robin Hood films, from a 1950s Daffy Duck cartoon to a Bryan Adams ballad that became a worldwide hit. Guests include Kathryn Kalinak, author of the book Film Music: A Very Short Introduction.
