Jeane J. Kirkpatrick served as the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations from 1981 to 1985, and was a member of the National Security Council during the Reagan administration. In Making War to Keep Peace, her last book before her death in 2006, she shared her thoughts on post-Cold War US foreign policy, and the war in Iraq.
