Back in the 1950s, the US Congress forecasted the doom of American Indians--predicting that soon all tribal lands would be sold off, and Indians would be completely assimilated culturally. But these predictions haven’t come true. Kent Lebsock, executive director of the American Indian Law Alliance, and Charles Wilkinson, Native American law expert, look at why the US government and American Indians are still going head-to-head on many issues.
