#4894, Bang on a Can All-Stars play Ryuichi Sakamoto, Live at Roulette
From the New Sounds Live Concerts, the Bang On A Can All-Stars pay tribute to the late Japanese composer, producer, pianist, and electronic music pioneer Ryuichi Sakamoto with hybrid chamber-rock versions of some of his works, recorded live at Roulette, from the 2024 Long Play Festival. Like J.S. Bach, Sakamoto kept on revising his own music, changing it to suit needs at the time. In fact, Sakamoto’s album called 1996 saw him arrange some of his best known music, including his award-winning film scores, for a piano trio.
