For the past four years, saxophonist Tia Fuller has had one foot in the jazz world and the other in the pop realm. While touring the world as a member of Beyoncé's all-female band, Fuller has also been establishing herself as a notable jazz saxist with three albums as leader under her belt. On her latest effort, Decisive Steps, Fuller takes a page from Beyoncé's playbook and offers up 10 tracks featuring her own all-female ensemble. This title cut bristles with bop energy as Fuller and her sister, pianist Shamie Royston, turn in spirited performances.
