There’s also work by NYC-based sound artist, sax player, and composer Lea Bertucci who augments her alto sax with processing and delay, and uses tape technology, resonant spaces, and sounds that occupy a gray area between music and noise. Then, hear music by Brighton-based composer, producer, pianist and violinist Poppy Ackroyd, with help from clarinetist Mike Lesirge. Also, hear work by American composer Frances White, who works in the area of music for instruments and computer-generated sound. ; she’s also a student of the traditional Japanese flute, the shakuhachi. Sample some of her work “Centre Bridge” (one of the bridges that connects New Jersey and Pennsylvania) in which she takes the sounds of traffic and adapts them for two shakuhachi and electronics.
