#4648, New York Guitar Festival, Part 6
From the 2022 New York Guitar Fesitval at The Greene Space, hear Brazilian guitarist and vocalist Badi Assad, and a lot of cosmic Appalachian player William Tyler’s set. Plus, more improvised music by Vernon Reid and Laraaji, and more.
From folky and acoustic to cosmic and electric, to guitar music with vocal percussion and South American rhythms, we’ve got it here in this missing pieces edition of the New York Guitar Festival 2022. Listen to the space-country stylings of guitarist William Tyler, whose music pulls in Appalachian folk, psychedelic, and electronic music. He plays music from across the spectrum of his releases.
Then, hear music from Brazilian Badi Assad who is a guitarist, and…a singer, percussionist, keyboardist, and dancer. She arranges a well-known pop song, and performs music from many Brazilian songwriters on her travel-custom guitar.
Plus, an encore bit of ambient improvisation on electric guitar and amplified zither from Vernon Reid and Laraaji (who also added vocals.) – Caryn Havlik
