It’s music for the end of the daylight hours on this program, with music by the late British composer and producer David Bedford, guitarscapes by Noveller, and music by composer-vocalist Julianna Barwick. Plus, a meeting of Western jazz and classical Indian music in New York Collective Brooklyn Raga Massive together with drummer Adam Rudolph’s Go: Organic Orchestra.
From the late British composer and producer David Bedford, listen to a meditation on the end of the day, “Twelve Hours of Sunset.” Inspired by a Roy Harper song of that name, the work is for chorus and orchestra and sounds like an exercise in restraint and performing as quietly as possible.
Hear percussionist Adam Rudolph’s Go: Organic Orchestra in collaboration with Brooklyn Raga Massive. It’s a meeting of classical Indian music and Western jazz, with underpinnings of both spiritual jazz and trance ritual music, based on a raga for the twilight part of the day.
Then, listen to an A.I.-triggered environmentally responsive soundtrack by composer-vocalist Julianna Barwick, called Circumstance Synthesis in tune with the New York City sky.
