From Pigskins to Puccini
Soundcheck | May 3, 2010
Just a few years ago, Morris Robinson was an ex-football player and a salesman for a tech company. Now, in his early thirties, he is considered one of the most promising basses at The Metropolitan Opera. Morris will talk with guest host George Preston about his strange trip through the opera world and give a live performance to show off the voice that has the Met buzzing. Also, jazz pianist Geri Allen has been one of the most important figures in jazz over the last fifteen years. She visits us in the Soundcheck studio to discuss a new piece she is currently working on.
