Over the course of his career, pianist Christopher O'Riley has transformed music by the Beatles, guitarist Nick Drake, and George Harrison into classical arrangements for solo piano. O’Riley visits to perform one of his most recent set of musical rearrangements: piano transcriptions of songs by the British art-rock band Radiohead. Plus, a conversation with longtime music critic (and former Rolling Stone editor) Anthony DeCurtis about, among other things, the intersection between rock and classical music.
Christopher O’Riley’s repertoire has ranged from rock and pop to contemporary classical (think: Roger Sessions and John Adams), to English Renaissance and French Baroque.
