Claire Chase, Sybarite5 and Momenta Quartet at Look & Listen Festival

Hosted by Q2 Music's Nadia Sirota, this final concert of the 2013 Look & Listen Festival boasted the talents of Claire Chase, Svet Stoyanov, Phyllis Chen, Cuddle Magic, Sybarite5, and the Momenta Quartet.

Claire Chase, flutist and recently-named MacArthur Fellow, partnered with percussionist Svet Stoyanov to perform a work by Stuart Smith and a world premiere from Marcos Balter entitled Poe. Also on the bill were selections from the upcoming collaborative album of Cuddle Magic and toy pianist Phyllis Chen, as well as a world premiere from Brazilian composer João Luiz, performed by Sybarite5.

Since its inception in 2003, the Look & Listen Composer Competition has offered entrants the chance to have their work premiered at the festival. This year's winning composition is Evis Sammoutis's Echopraxia, for string sextet, which received its world premiere by the Momenta Quartet along with violist Jessica Meyer and cellist Sean Katsuyama.
