Lockerbie Families Relieved at Death of Man Blamed

Families of Pan Am Flight 103 passengers who died when the plane exploded over Scotland more than two decades ago say they're relieved that the Libyan officer convicted in the bombing has died.

The son of Abdel Baset al-Megrahi says his father died Sunday. He had had cancer and been given three months to live when Scotland released him to Libya in 2009 on humanitarian grounds.

In Pennsylvania, Glenn Johnson, whose daughter died on the flight, says he feels some relief, but says al-Megrahi's release was "a political deal." He says he's surprised al-Megrahi lived so long with cancer.

Bert Ammerman, who lost his brother in the bombing, isn't totally at peace. Ammerman says the United States should be more aggressive in tracking other leads in the bombing.
