20 Years of The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill

Joan Morgan discusses her new book She Begat This: 20 Years of The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, which offers an in-depth analysis of Lauryn Hill’s iconic album “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.” On the album’s 20th anniversary, this book is both a portrait of a monumental moment when a young musical artist made history as well as a crucial work of scholarship about an album that inspired an entire generation of musical talent.

On September 13 at 7:00 pm Joan Morgan will be in conversation with Shantrelle Lewis at the Weeksville Heritage Center at the Brooklyn Book Festival Bookends Event (158 Buffalo Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11213).

Joan Morgan will be at NYU's Institute of African American Affairs Silver Center on October 10 at 6:00 pm at Jurow Lecture Hall (100 Washington Square East Room 101A, 1st floor New York, NY 10003).
