1970-09-21 Mayor Lindsay Press Conference

The NYPR Archive Collections | Jan 1, 2000

Topics include Brownsville, waste management, welfare reform, and John Lindsay as a presidential candidate.

Senator Abraham Ribicoff speaks about a public services jobs program, which would give jobs to women, and provide day care for children. John Delury chimes in as well. He believes that women should not work and that their prime function is to care for their children and the home.

There is a bit of a debate that goes on between Delury and Ribicoff about women's ability to perform sanitation work.
