Jewish rapper Matisyahu rose to fame with his 2004 religious hit, "King Without a Crown." But yesterday, he released a beardless photo of himself, and this statement on his website: "No more Chassidic reggae superstar.” Before his eight-night run of Hanukkah concerts kicks off next week, Matisyahu stops by to talk about his new look - and to talk about holiday music, including the video for his newly released EP, called “Miracle.”
Matisyahu's Festival of Light tour stops at Music Hall of Williamsburg on Dec. 19, 20 and 21 and at Webster Hall on Dec. 22. More info here.
