Morning Fodder: Tweetables from the IAFC and BL Show Crews

It's A Free Country | Apr 26, 2011

From pretend teen pregnancy to turban warfare in Queens, here's what the IAFC staff is perusing on this Tuesday morning.

Jody: is reading about the science of why we don’t believein science, and 'How our brains fool us on climate, creationism, and the vaccine-autism link.'

Alana: "A teenager pretended to be pregnant for six months to do a sociology project on "Stereotypes, Rumors and Statistics" about what it's like to be a teen mom. I hope she gets into the college of her dreams, and I hope she publishes her work." (NY Daily News)

Caitlin: is reading about Manny before he was Manny, a look at great/disgraced ballplayer Manny Ramirez when he was a high school baseball phenom in Washington Heights. NY Times reporter Sara Rimer first met Manny as an 18-year-old with a 'quicksilver swing.'

Lisa submits this jaw-dropper about violent clashes between rival factions at a Sikh temple in Queens where "worshippers wielding swords and cricket bats interrupted a prayer session to attack their rivals in a vicious power struggle." To the surprise of few, the NY Post is calling it 'turban warfare.'
