New Jersey singer and rapper 070 Shake – real name Danielle Balbuena - caught the attention of Kanye West several years ago with her emotive blend of soul and hip hop. Madonna would soon become a fan too. Now 070 Shake is about to release her sophomore album, You Can’t Kill Me (on Kanye’s G.O.O.D. Music label), and her first single is called “Skin and Bones.” There’s plenty of Auto-Tune on her voice, but it doesn’t obscure the song’s combination of heartache and tenderness; like its accompanying video, “Skin and Bones” is elusive, and slightly surreal.
