Official Rules – Studio 360 Redesigns Canada Slogan Contest

SPONSORS: This contest is sponsored by Public Radio International (PRI), 401 2nd Avenue North, Suite 500, Minneapolis, MN 55401 and New York Public Radio (NYPR), 160 Varick Street, New York, NY 10013.

HOW TO ENTER: No purchase or pledge necessary. Entries must be submitted as a comment at http://www.studio360.org/blogs/studio-360-blog/2012/may/23/canada-your-slogan-here/ before the deadline: 11:59pm Eastern Standard Time on Sunday, June 24, 2012. All entries received in the manner outlined above previous to the prize announcement will be considered.

ELIGIBILITY: Residents of the US and Canada who are 18 years of age or older can enter the Studio 360 Redesigns Canada Slogan Contest, except employees or volunteers of any public radio station or its related organizations, their immediate family or persons living in the same household. Void where prohibited by law.

PRIZE: Prize voucher for a trip to Washington DC — consisting of two round trip coach class tickets from the winner’s closest airline terminus to the Washington DC area, and two nights at a downtown Washington DC hotel of PRI's choice. The trip has an estimated value of $1500. All other expenses, including transportation to and from airports, meals, and applicable taxes are the responsibility of the winner. Winners may extend the stay at their own expense. The prize voucher will be redeemed only at a travel agency of the PRI's  choice. The prize voucher has no cash value, and may not be wholly or partially redeemed for cash. The voucher may not be transferred, and must be redeemed by December 31, 2012. Winners must sign a liability release form to claim the prize.

SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION OF WINNER: One winner will be selected from all entries submitted before the contest deadline. The winner will be selected by the staff of Studio 360 based on the entry’s creative use of language, originality, and overall quality. Although there is no minimum or maximum word count, brevity is encouraged, with a suggested length of six words. The winning entry, as well as runners-up, may be featured on air and online at studio360.org, cbc.ca/q/, and related social media sites. 

Submission of an entry constitutes warranty of originality and non-infringement, as well as permission for NYPR and PRI to publish such entry on air and online, including social media. The winner will be notified by telephone or email. Prize will be shipped by mail. The chances of winning are dependent upon the number and quality of entries. The winner’s name will be kept on file at NYPR and will be available upon written request to WNYC Listener Services, 160 Varick Street, New York, NY 10013.

GENERAL: By participating in the Studio 360 Redesigns Canada Slogan Contest, participants agree to these Official Rules, and agree that New York Public Radio, Public Radio International, their agents, employees, and affiliates will have no liability whatsoever for any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind resulting from their use of the prize or their participation in the contest. There can be no substitutions for a prize. NYPR and PRI may use winner’s name and entry for publicity purposes without further compensation.

RESTRICTIONS: Restrictions may apply. By participating in the Studio 360 Redesigns Canada Slogan Contest, a participant agrees to be bound by these Official Rules, and by all decisions of the contest judges.
