Today marks the one year anniversary of the uprising in Egypt’s that ousted President Hosni Mubarak. Over the past twelve months, the country has taken big steps to transition to a more democratic government. Egypt rewrote its constitution and the first freely elected parliament in more than 60 years held their first session this week. Former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak is back in court this morning. The 83-year-old deposed former president faces charges of corruption and murder for hundreds of protesters in the January uprising. The BBC's Yolande Knell is following the former president's trial in Cairo and tells us about the circus surrounding the proceedings in Cairo as the former president appears in prison garb behind a steal cage as the streets erupt in protest for and against Mubarak.

Hosni Mubarak Under Investigation, In Hospital

Hosni Mubarak is being questioned for financial crimes, however he has recently been admitted to the hospital for poor health. Medical sources say that the 82-year-old refused to eat or drink before he was questioned. His two sons are also being held in custody for fifteen days of questioning. The pressure is on the general prosecutor to show that Mubarak is not exempt from justice. The BBC's Middle East correspondent Yolande Knell reports.
