Nikki Johnson brings professional experiences in the areas of arts management, production, touring, event and logistical planning. She has served as the assistant company manager for the world famous Boys Choir of Harlem and Girls Choir of Harlem; company management intern for Lincoln Center Festival 2000; and production coordinator and stage manager for the Lincoln Center Out-of-Doors Festivals. She has also held various administrative and production positions with Jazz at Lincoln Center, Brooklyn Philharmonic and Community Works — a leading arts and education organization serving New York City public school students.
Nikki was proud to serve as the company manager for a once-in-a-lifetime tour and artistic collaboration between two professional dance companies — Compagnie Jant-Bi from Senegal, Africa and Brooklyn’s own Urban Bush Women. This 19-city U.S. tour ended in 2008 in Essen, Germany at the illustrious Pina Bausch Festival. Her next tour was with a one-woman comedy show entitled Motherload. Currently, and for the past fifteen years, Nikki has served her church in the capacity of company, production and stage manager for the Sacred Arts Ministry of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Brooklyn.
Nikki hails from Brooklyn, New York and holds a BA in Speech Communications and Theatre Arts from Hampton University and an MFA in Arts Administration from Virginia Tech. She volunteers her time and talents in service to the Oscar- and Grammy-nominated group, Impact Repertory Theatre — a non-profit youth leadership training program in Harlem.
Since joining The Greene Space team in 2009, Nikki has become a wife and mother of the first Greene Space baby — a beautiful baby boy — Zair Emmanuel Johnson. Nikki is tremendously excited to be a part of The Greene Space; she is living her passion and firmly believes in "clearing the path" for artist to do their work.
