Dr. John Fraser is a conservation psychologist, architect, and educator. His research focuses on how our experience with media and community influences learning, attitudes, and motivations for engagement with solving the problems that face society. He is President & CEO of New Knowledge Organization Ltd., a New York based think tank that’s been actively engaged in understanding how Americans talk about climate change and what it takes to get people more involved in climate resilience. He’s also President of the American Psychological Association’s Division 34, Society for Environment, Population and Conservation Psychology, Editor-in-Chief of Curator: The Museum Journal published by John Wiley and Sons, Inc. and will be launching a new book series with Springer Nature entitled Psychology and our Planet in 2020. He published one of the first studies that demonstrated how understanding environmental degradation can have negative emotional impacts on people working in front line conservation.
