Helen Keller

At 18 months of age Helen Keller (1880-1968) suffered an illness that robbed her of her eyesight, hearing, and ability to speak. Through determination she became a symbol of human triumph over incredible adversity as she learned to speak, graduated from Radcliffe, and led a vigorous life.
