Ophthalmologist Dr. Geoffrey Tabin talks about his work restoring sight to some of the world’s most isolated, impoverished people through the Himalayan Cataract Project. He teamed up with Sanduk Ruit to treat the people of the Himalayas, a region with an high incidence of cataract blindness. With their revolutionary, inexpensive style of surgery, Tabin and Ruit have cured tens of thousands. David Oliver Relin wrote about the doctors’ work in the book Second Suns.
