Except for when a resident, generally from the dementia ward, became violent and/or busted loose, the atmosphere at the old folks home remained tranquil as a cup of chamomile tea. It was such a contrast to the forlorn circus from which my guardian had been expelled after one too many failed stunts. The other aged exiles had committed crimes involving either fire or water. To Monkey King, that was amateur hour.

More of Monkey!
I think this story quickly engages the reader and draws the reader in. I would look forward to hearing more about the adventures of Monkey King.
This is a well written story. I found the Monkey King [not the money king as someone called him] believable. I'd like to read a second story about this person.
Sounds like Monkey King was a character, trying to keep things interesting. No sitting in a chair sleeping all day for him. Yea!
I love this story. It paints a multi-layered story in a short space. I'd like to hear more!
i can relate to this having an aged father who is in a nursing home. he's still pulling his own stunts - like getting out of his wheelchair to adjust the temperature in his room rather than pressing the bell for assistance. he's going to get busted one of these days, but the home can't 'expell' him and he knows it! he's a clever little bugger!
"The other aged exiles had committed crimes involving either fire or water." I love this line.
I love the Monkey King!
I wanna hear more about Money King..
The story has already pulled me innnnnnnnn
I hope he didn't burn the house down or flood the neighbor downstairs. Aging is bewildering.
