What else goes into recruiting, evaluating, and retaining great teachers?:

I partially agree, and partially disagree. What needs to be doubled is the AUTHORITY and DISCIPLINE that teachers can legally apply in the classroom! The authority and disciplinary capabilities has been STRIPPED from teachers in the last 40 years, and that is the MAJOR reason why so many kids are failing.

It is nonsense to say that class size does not matter. Maybe not in a class of college students, but it very much matter in K-12. The mayor is talking nonsense. Let him try controlling and teaching a class for a week without his bodyguards and the cameras accompanying him.
